The 42nd Anniversary celebration of the Class of 63

It’s a Birthday party you’ll never forget!

Since most of us will turn 60 years of age this year…we thought it only fitting that we gather to celebrate that milestone, 42 years after graduating from high school. This is the first call for the 2005 Gathering of the Class of 63 … a two-day event featuring a Happy 60^th Birthday Celebration (for most of us), featuring a wonderful evening dinner cruise on Narragansett Bay and a BYOB Birthday Party, cookout and dance party the following day. The theme song for the weekend will be “Sixty Candles” not “Sixteen Candles” ..and although the Crests won’t be there to serenade us, the weekend will be filled with oldies but goodies, including you and all your classmates.

We hope you can make both events ... but if not, seeing you on one of the two days would be wonderful.

We heard what you had to say on the recent survey, so the dates for this year’s event will be July 29^th through July 31^st. On Friday evening, there will be a dinner cruise aboard the Bay Queen, departing from 461 Water Street, Gate #4, Warren, RI. And on Saturday afternoon, there will be a Birthday Party/Cookout at the Buttonwoods Casino in Warwick.

• The Bay Queen Cruise includes a buffet dinner and dancing and cash bar, from 7:30 PM until 11:30 PM. Tickets are $45 per person. Your reservation and payment must be received by June 18^t.. After that date, there is no guarantee that space will be available.

• The Birthday Party/Cookout will start at 4PM Saturday afternoon until ? The ticket price per person is $15. This includes your choice of chicken or steak, side dishes, salads, and birthday cake. Your BBQ masters will cook for you, or you can do it yourself. Mixers and ice and an assortment of soft drinks will be supplied, but it’s BYOB for alcoholic beverages. Bring your own cooler if you wish. “Oldies but goodies” will be provided by the committee…all bring a flood of memories from our high school years. . Don’t be at all surprised is there is a pick-up game or two of softball, volleyball, horseshoes, etcetera! We will let the spontaneity of the moment dictate our fun! (why does that sound dangerous?)

• Following the cookout, there will be a hospitality suite that will be open to one and all at the host hotel where out out-of-town guests will be staying. Beer, wine and snacks will be provided. There’s always the chance for a late night breakfast at Bickford’s as well! Last year’s 2 AM “dutch treat at Bickfords” was a hoot! The hotel site has yet to be determined (you will be advised when a hotel is selected and hopefully discounts will be available, but reservations will be on your own.)

We are looking forward to yet another wonderful weekend with friends and classmates. Don’t let another gathering slip away – PLAN AHEAD AND SAVE THE DATES!
